B has not been well since Weds night, still feverish, complaining of his ear hurting- just not looking good. Today he still had a fever of 101 in the middle of the day, and he put himself to bed. Enough is enough. I took him to the CVS Minute Clinic and the kindly FNP said he had a perforated ear drum. Now we have our Augmentin and all is right with the world.
The FNP was a UMB grad, as was the one I visited a few weeks ago for my hep A shot. Sometimes I think it would be nice to work at a low stress job like Minute Clinic, but I think I'd be bored and lonely. They use software which prompts them for every step of the visit, and then tells them what to do with the results. It doesn't seem like much of a challenge. I wonder what it pays.
