In Guangzhou

We are in Guangzhou, our last stop in China (unless you count an overnight in Hong Kong before we fly home).  Our consulate appointment (which we didn't even have to go to) went well, and our facilitator said there were no questions.  That means Zhen Zhen's visa should be ready today.  This afternoon we have a swearing in ceremony at the consulate and then we take a train to Hong Kong, sleep in an expensive hotel which doesn't include breakfast, then race for the airport.  I'm kind of dreading it.  We have a lot of luggage, a lot of people to keep track of, and the train stations are crowded and HUGE.  But I'll be really glad to come home.

I've uploaded more pictures to the photobucket subfolders (under NanchangGuilin and Guilin).  John has kept up with the travelogue portion of the blog.  Our internet service has been very spotty since we left Nanchang, so I'm sorry if I haven't answered your emails.  I look forward to talking to everyone when I get home.  We have some funny stories- like the rooster head, complete with cock's comb, in mom's dinner.

I hope everyone is safe and well.

Love, Lisa

I have lived vicariously through the Bedell family. The pics of the chicken claw made me sick for both myself and Ellen. How gross!!! Although Johns pic of the cat and the rat was gross to, but fascinating. I miss my Sister, miss chatting with her. Can't wait to hear how China was ..."great ... but the problem is ... " Aahhahahaha. I read every descriptive word John wrote and watch every picture in the "bucket". I love the internet. I'm glad my family is not boring. I want my family home!

I can't wait to talk to my family also. I have been so excited for all of you during this whole trip. And I am so exstatic to have a new niece to meet. I can't believe you have picked up your new daughter across the world and are bringing her home to your crazy life in Baltimore. Lisa...I wish Dad were here to meet her. He would be so sweet with her and so proud of you. Your a woman of inspiration in all that you do!!
I love you!!
