I talked to the travel agent and the travel coordinator today. The agent is booking tickets for us (hopefully they are available) on Continental.

On July 10 we will fly out of BWI to Newark and then catch a flight to Beijing.

We will do the five-day Beijing tour then take an overnight train (two "soft sleeper" cars, four bunks each) to Nanchang. We will get C there, and spend a few days doing paperwork. I hope to take a daytrip to her home city of Jingdezhen. We are now thinking we will leave Friday evening and take an overnight train to Guilin which is where those tall strange pointy hills are which make you think "China" when you see them. We can then spend Sat and Sunday night in Guilin, and then take a train to Guangzhou. Our consulate appointment is 7/24. We have a ceremony on 7/25, then we hustle-bustle to catch a train to Hong Kong that night. We will fly home from Hong Kong on 7/26 on Continental via Newark.
